The latest Express Entry CEC draw, held on October 15, 2026, issued 2,500 invitations to apply for permanent residence. The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score was 519.
This Canadian Experience Class round offers selected candidates with qualifying Canadian work experience an opportunity to submit a permanent residence application. Receiving an invitation does not mean permanent residence has been approved.
Express Entry CEC draw: October 15 results
- Draw date: October 15, 2026
- Round number: 449
- Program: Canadian Experience Class
- Invitations issued: 2,500
- Minimum CRS score: 519
- Tie-breaking rule: September 21, 2026, at 19:00:47 UTC

What does the tie-breaking rule mean?
When candidates share the lowest invited score, IRCC uses their profile submission date and time to determine their ranking. At the cut-off, profiles submitted before the published timestamp take priority.
The timestamp does not mean every invited candidate needed to have submitted a profile before that date.
Who is affected by this update?
This round targeted candidates eligible for the Canadian Experience Class. It is particularly relevant to workers who have built qualifying skilled work experience in Canada and are pursuing permanent residence.
Holding a Canadian work permit or a post-graduation work permit does not, by itself, establish CEC eligibility. Candidates must satisfy the program requirements and meet the selection conditions for the round.
For an introduction to the system, read Always Canada Group’s Express Entry guide.
Canadian Experience Class eligibility
IRCC requires qualifying paid Canadian work experience gained while authorized to work under temporary resident status. The experience must be in eligible skilled occupations and meet the program’s minimum duration requirements.
Applicants must also meet language requirements, be admissible to Canada and plan to live outside Quebec. Work completed while studying full-time generally does not count toward the CEC work experience requirement.
These are existing requirements. The October 15 selection results do not announce a new CEC eligibility policy.
Review the official Canadian Experience Class requirements before relying on your work history.
Next steps if you received an invitation
Check the deadline in your IRCC account
Read your invitation and account messages carefully. IRCC states that an invitation to apply is valid for 60 days. Follow the exact submission deadline shown in your account.
Confirm your information and prepare documents
Review your work history, language results, personal details and any changes since you created your profile. Make sure the information supporting your eligibility and CRS score remains accurate.
Prepare the documents requested in your personalized checklist. Follow IRCC’s instructions for applying for permanent residence.
Do not assume that receiving an invitation changes your temporary resident status or work authorization. Review your existing permit conditions separately.
What if you were not invited?
Check that your Express Entry profile remains accurate and that relevant documents remain valid. Review legitimate ways to strengthen your profile and consider other pathways that fit your circumstances.
A score below this round’s cut-off does not, by itself, mean you are ineligible for the CEC. Program eligibility and receiving an invitation are separate matters.

Prepare your application carefully
The October 15 Express Entry CEC draw creates a new opportunity for selected candidates with Canadian work experience. If invited, review your account, confirm your eligibility and submit a complete application within your deadline.
